Propose An Exhibition
The Atrium Gallery at OSU Hillel is seeking proposals from artists to exhibit 2D or relief artworks in 2011 and 2012.
Artists may propose solo shows or group shows, either with a theme or without. Jewish artists and/or artists with Jewish-themed work are encouraged to apply, but you do not need to be Jewish to show your work at OSU Hillel.
Because OSU Hillel is a Jewish institution that serves members of the entire Columbus community, we ask that work to be displayed is “family friendly” and in good taste. Since we understand that this concept is subjective, OSU Hillel reserves the right to refuse to display any piece of artwork that might inappropriate for our exhibition space.
About the Gallery:
The gallery is located on the second floor of OSU Hillel - The Jewish Student Center
46 E. 16th Ave. Columbus OH.
OSU Hillel has a modular hanging system to avoid putting nail holes in the wall, all work must be fitted with a wire in the back to hang this way. It is recommended that pieces are not smaller than 8x8 inches. There are 3 areas in the gallery where a few (about 6) smaller works may be hung on nails or picture hooks.
All work must be ready-to-hang at the time of installation. OSU Hillel cannot display 3D or free-standing works at this time.
OSU Hillel does not currently take a commission on works sold. Artists are asked to provide an email address where they can be contacted to be included on the artwork title cards, should a patron wish to purchase a work.
For group shows, a $5 hanging fee per artwork will be collected at the time of drop-off. The gallery curator may ask one or two members of the group to assist with artwork hanging.
For solo shows, or group shows consisting of three or fewer artists, OSU Hillel requests that artists be present at the time of installation to assist with the hanging of the works.
